| Pennsylvania EXAFLOOD Series: Preparing Pennsylvania for Exponential Internet & Broadband Growth The Act 138 grant program was created to make Pennsylvania schools leaders in educational broadband. The amount of digital information created, captured and replicated in 2006 was 161 exabytes, about three million times more information than in every book ever written. The capacity for storing information is infinite, but the capacity of the networks connecting students to the information is finite. The EXAFLOOD series addresses Pennsylvania’s exploding broadband needs, by preparing decision makers and educators for the future of learning. Attend and learn how your company or school can prepare for the flood. Presented in partnership with the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania. Sponsored by Pennsylvania Telecommunications Task Force.

In an effort to provide more value to our members, the Pittsburgh Technology Council will be aggressively working to create additional Business Essentials partnerships. The Business Essentials program leverages the buying potential of our membership to deliver unique value and cost savings through exclusive partnerships. After surveying our membership, the Council has identified the following areas as the most immediate and significant cost saving opportunities:
• Office Products and Supplies: The Council has chosen not to renew its agreement with our current office supply partner and is seeking a new partnership to provide discounted office products to our membership.
• Energy: Energy aggregation and advisory services as well as service offerings that can help our members to reduce their energy consumption or choose environmentally-friendly alternatives.
• Electronic Collaboration Solutions: Services such as conference calling, Web conferencing and video conferencing to connect member businesses with clients and partners.
• Employee Legal Services: Legal services for personal matters such as identity theft, significant purchases, and creating a will.
If you would like to be considered in an upcoming RFI (request for information) process for any of these partnerships, please contact Guinevere Anderson at 412.918.4216; or Dave Schuerholz at 412.918.4236 by December 19. In your response, please indicate the RFI for which you wish to apply, and provide appropriate business contact information including: your full name, job title, organization, business address, phone number and e-mail address. Interested parties will receive formal copies of relevant RFIs upon official release from the Council.
Thank you for helping us continue to offer superior value to our members.
